Some bands just have to be experienced live in order to get their full, musical effect. The Avett Brothers certainly make, if not top, that list. Shovels and Rope are on there, too, along with Parker Millsap, Brandi Carlile, Richard Thompson, and Alabama Shakes. And then there's Elephant Revival -- yet another case of seeing is believing.

Last summer, the Colorado quintet of Bonnie Paine, Bridget Law, Charlie Rose, Dango Rose, and Daniel Rodriguez opened a show for Devotchka and Gregory Alan Isakov at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Even though the legendary venue is, practically, in their backyard, it was Elephant Revival's first time on its stage and, luckily, it was captured on film.

Bridget Law, the group's fiddle player, says of the experience, “Playing Red Rocks for the first time last summer was overwhelmingly fantastic! I kept thinking, ‘I can’t wait until we can do this again so I won’t have the first-time jitters and can sink in and enjoy this experience!’” Somebody somewhere heard Law's wish and granted it, with another opening slot at the end of August. “As wishes come true, we get to play there again this summer with Trampled by Turtles and Shakey Graves,” Law enthuses.

Between here and there, Elephant Revival has a handful of West Coast dates to close out March.
