We’re looking for someone to join our team! We have an opening for an Associate Editor / Social Media Coordinator – a part-time position – so if this sounds like something in your technical wheelhouse, and you have a knowledge of roots music, read on for the details:
• Remote contract position, ideally available M-F between 9a-12p CT; other work hours will be flexible and self-managed
• Part time (avg. 20-25 hours per week)
• Must have knowledge of roots music (folk / bluegrass / country / Americana / blues / indie). Broad musical appreciation and interest beyond roots music a plus. Experience with Slack, Zoom, and WordPress strongly preferred.
• Looking for someone who is detail-oriented, efficient, dependable, consistent to join our tight-knit, efficient, and progressive team
Social Media Coordinator responsibilities:
• Scheduling daily posts
• Curating and scheduling content for feed
• Building weekly newsletter
• Assisting with podcast network and show promo on socials
• Experience with basic graphic design a plus
• Reports to Media Director via weekly check-ins and Slack
Associate Editor responsibilities:
• Double checking and proofreading daily posts
• Building out articles in website CMS
• Creating show listings on BGS Presents page
• Writing occasional listicles and staff features (1-2 / week to start)
• Reports to Managing Editor via weekly check-ins and Slack
