BGS is proud to once again partner with our friends at WinterWonderGrass to bring you exquisite, intimate live sessions captured at WinterWonderGrass Steamboat earlier this year. Filmed by Far From Near Productions at the Steamboat Art Museum in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, we’re calling the series of videos WinterWonderGrass In The Round. Artists and bands from the WWG lineup perform in casual and cozy jam circles – unplugged, acoustic, and unadorned – inside the museum, surrounded on all sides by adoring fans, festival-goers decked out in their toques, scarves, and snow clothes. Our very first WinterWonderGrass In The Round videos featured Clay Street Unit. We’ve also enjoyed a terrific set from Bronwyn.

To continue the series, we’ve got two BGS and WWG favorites, guitarist Tyler Grant and banjo player Billy Failing. Check out magnificent acoustic performances of “Been Away Too Long,” “One Big Ride,” and “Watch It Fly.”

“Been Away Too Long” is a highlight of Grant’s latest album, Flatpicker –which was released in 2025 – while “One Big Ride” is an engaging preview of new music to come from Billy Failing, the award-winning banjoist who’s been on tour with Billy Strings for a decade now. And, reaching back into the vault, the duo performs “Watch It Fly,” from Failing’s 2017 album, Calling My Trouble By Name. Watching these new videos, the mutual admiration between two friends is quite evident and the music is (of course) wonderful. The vibe is relaxed, carefree, and intimate, two old friends sharing songs as if in a living room or on the front porch. It’s an energy that runs through all of these WWG In The Round videos, and you can see it in the audience, as well. Especially in moments like when Grant and Failing rotate between songs to give everyone an optimal view, to laughs from the surrounding crowd.

Grant and Failing – and, truly, the entire slate of WWG artists we’ll feature in these In The Round videos – demonstrate the depth and breadth possible in newgrass and jamgrass music. Stay tuned right here on BGS and on the BGS and WWG social media channels for more content coming soon from artists like AJ Lee, TopHouse, and Johnny Mullenax in the coming weeks. And catch Billy Failing on tour in Colorado right now.

Live music is certainly never going away if BGS, WinterWonderGrass, Far From Near, and all these artists and bands have anything to do with it. And as long as we have y’all to enjoy it, too!
