In Their Words: “I take any chance I can to emulate my heroes. With ‘Wrap My Porch Around,’ I wanted to honor both Vince Gill, in the way he cut two versions of ‘High Lonesome Sound’ and Dierks Bentley, who I would argue has done more to keep bluegrass relevant in modern country music than any other artist in the last 20 years. Not surprisingly, those two guys have been responsible for giving me a home stage from which to make music on the road these past five years. Also not surprisingly, besides my own shows, those are the two guys I last shared the stage with at the Station Inn.

“Working with the Travelin’ McCourys – recording at Vince’s house, no less – made the bluegrass version of ‘Porch’ extra sweet. Unless I’m mistaken, I think ‘Porch’ was the last thing Jason Carter played on with them before striking out on his own. For a liner-note, hillbilly history buff like me, it’s as cool to be associated with that milestone as it is to be in possession of Roy Acuff’s last tube of Poli-Grip (this is a fact… it was collected from his dressing room at the Opry after he passed, and gifted to me by a close friend).” – Charlie Worsham
