In Their Words: “In a log cabin in the mountains of Lake Lure, North Carolina, and during Covid quarantine, ‘Coming Alive’ was born. It was my birthday of July 10th, 2020, and I was hibernating in that cabin to restore, write a new album and stay safe among the existing world paradigm. Right at midnight into that next circle around the sun, I sang the first demo in my home studio loft. It’s a song about renewal and freedom, starting from the liberation of the heart and igniting into the larger world as I once knew it.
“I remember looking at the forest and lake views from that mountaintop and wondering when music venues would open again, when families would gather again and when life would return to normal. With a deep desire to connect with people and travel, yet deep in solitude in a miraculous creative space, I took a journey within to an experience of massive self-discovery. Within the song, I could travel to many places beyond my imagination and ignite a feeling of freedom deep in my heart. The ‘body of water’ lyric is a metaphor for the ocean within me, the water of creativity and love that carries me through this journey of life.” — Christie Lenée
