This is a major weekend for a lot of festivals, especially around the SoCal region– Grass Valley, Huck Finn, and of course, the epic Telluride Bluegrass Fest in Colorado (oh how I wish I could be there right now!). I’m headed to Live Oak Music Fest in Santa Barbara this weekend to see the Wailin Jennys and Mavis Staples… super excited (plus it benefits public radio… yay!).
One of my favorite bands, The Infamous Stringdusters, played Telluride this afternoon… in their honor, and for your weekend viewing pleasure, I present you first with their performance of Magic #9 (courtesy of MusicFog)…
Here’s the trailer for their Festy experience (‘the Greatest Festival Experience Ever’). I am anxiously awaiting details for this year’s Festy this fall. Just wait until 0:25… such an awesome moment, and from a perspective we don’t usually see. THIS is what this music (and the festival experience in general) is all about.
