The blues certainly sound right at home at Lucinda’s, a must-see honky-tonk, juke joint, and cocktail lounge in New York City’s East Village. Charlie Musselwhite, a Grammy-winning blues harp legend who first made his mark on the Chicago blues scene in the 1960s, shares the stage with Boston’s modern blues band GA-20 in three brand-new live performances.
Their intergenerational chemistry comes easily. GA-20’s lead singer, Matthew Stubbs, spent more than a decade touring with Musselwhite, and it’s a musical partnership that continues to thrive. This summer, the accomplished artists partnered to release Blues Now, a collection that drew praise for capturing the energy of Chicago’s electric blues sound of the 1960s.
So, how about some blues now? Enjoy live performances of “Crazy Love,” “I Can’t Hold Out,” and “I’ll Change My Style.”
