In Their Words: “I wrote ‘When We Wander’ after returning home from a busy UK tour sometime in 2018. As usual, my family had been on tour with me, so even though we were weary from the long hours, we carried so many great new memories with us from the journey. Originally the song and video had a very literal meaning for me — I wanted to capture that feeling of taking a risk despite the fear of the unknown, and emerging as a better and more fulfilled human being (and as a closer family in my case). The pandemic hit right after we completed the video and instantly the meaning of the song deepened. Wandering became such a broad term as we explored new ways to make music, new ways to make a living and new plans for the future. It took more guts and determination than anything I did in my music career before 2020. The song and lyrics still resonate with me and feel very real, just in a totally new way.β — Jesse Terry
