In Their Words: “‘3000 Miles’ is an autobiographical song that traces my journey from the deserts of California to Boston, the place I now call home. Growing up, the Mojave felt confining to me and I always sensed that Iād need to leave to find myself. This song is a ramblerās road song, shaped by years of searching. However, it took the stillness of lockdown to finally finish it ā when I couldnāt travel anywhere. That pause gave me the chance to look back and make sense of all the miles Iād put behind me.” ā Rachel Sumner
