The '60s! Music had a cause and an edge, artists believed they could change the world with their lyrics — I still do!
If you could have a superpower, what would you choose?
FLY … or make people happy.
If you were in a high school marching band, which instrument would you want to play?
I was a choir nerd — all 12 years in the soprano section!
What's your go-to road food?
Whole Foods! We stop in every major town and keep the van filled with healthy snacks like carrots and celery with hummus, avocado, fruit, almonds, granola, etc. Also always keep lemons on hand as they are alkalinizing.
Who was the best teacher you ever had — and why?
Donna Wright — my theater teacher in early high school in Mississippi. She taught me that I was talented enough that I could do anything I wanted and fostered my confidence as a performer. She also told me I had no discipline … which has made me spend the rest of my life trying to be disciplined about working on my art.
