In Their Words: “‘Pterodactyl’ was a kind of self-soothing progression that gradually bloomed with instrumentation and textures in the studio. And the live performance is an opportunity for Andrew, Evan and me to harmonize together for almost every word of a song, which is really refreshing and fun to exercise the special chemistry weâve found over the years. The repetitive rhythm feels like walking to the park in my neighborhood and just trying to feel peace. I spent a lot of time during the first few months of the pandemic at Cherokee Park in Louisville thinking about geology and the layers of earth that touch our present lives and connect us to our ancestors.
