In Their Words: “After 11 years away from the music, it seemed only right to break out of the box telling my story. The story about losing my dad, but remembering the man who stood beside me and encouraged me to sing from the time that I was 4 years old. Even though there are specifics of my dad’s upbringing in the song, I believe so many other people can relate. The song and video are meant to pay tribute by capturing some of his life events, leading right up to my debut on the Grand Ole Opry where my dad stood beside me as he did for many years. I just want everyone to know ‘They Don’t Make ’em Like My Daddy Anymore.’
“I believe everything happens for a reason, and calling on Glenn Sweitzer from Fresh Design Film to help me put this video together, was meant to happen. We worked together on my first video ‘Don’t Tell Me’ back in 2009 and I loved his work. What I didn’t know was he recently lost his mom, so when he heard the song, he naturally became invested heart and soul. Thank you, Glenn, for putting your heart in this as if you were telling your own story.” — Alecia Nugent
