In Their Words: "This record is centered around falling in love and figuring out life in your 20s. In my experience, there have been some amazing highs paired with intense struggles. 'Courthouse Steps' — written by Alec Gross, Will Knox, and Jake Hill (Handsome Lady Records Club) — stood out immediately, as if specifically written for this project.
My goal for this record is to present a love story and the many stages of that relationship from that first feeling of butterflies to becoming intertwined in another person’s life, while trying to maintain your own identity, and ultimately working as a team to build a life together. The juxtaposition of happiness and strife is what I find the most fascinating about creating the early stages of your adult life and falling in love." — Clayton Mathews
