HAPPY WEEKEND

Jun 1, 2013

How was your weekend, readers?  Hopefully some of you were able to make it out to one of the maaany shows taking place in and around Los Angeles over the past few days.  With appearances from The Devil Makes Three to David Grisman at UCLA to Susie Glaze and the Hilonesome Band, The Show Ponies, and of course Greensky Bluegrass’ appearance at The Mint on Friday night (have you read our recent interview with Greensky’s Paul Hoffman yet???), the city of Angels has been filled with great music over the past few days.

And the great news??  There’s SO much more on the way…. don’t forget to check out our updated calendar for everything bluegrass, roots, and Americana happening in the city.

Meanwhile, here’s a few of the things you might have missed on the internets this week:

• This beautiful live track of The Avett Brothers with the Brooklyn Philharmonic seems particularly poignant this week (via Fuel/Friends blog)

• The Portland Sessions managed to capture The Milk Carton Kids perfectly in their most recent video.

• Ever wondered what Della Mae’s fiddle gal Kimber Ludiker is listening to these days?

• Casey Driessen is busy finding amazing new things to do with his fiddle… (via Cybergrass)
