In Their Words: “I don’t write a lot of love songs. I try to include one on each album and it is usually my toughest assignment. Love is so powerful and so personal that for me, it’s hard to put those feelings into words that give them the treatment they deserve. I’ve known many relationships where one person ended up in more of a lead role and the spouse took a much more supportive role. ‘Nobody But Her’ is not just a love song. It’s a thank you note to those supportive partners expressing that their sacrifices do not go unnoticed. It’s written from the perspective of a guy who knows that he is a handful, but is blessed to have a woman who somehow manages to love him in spite of it.” – Daryl Mosley

BGS Wraps: Daryl Mosley, “An Old Fashioned Christmas”

Artist: Daryl Mosley
Hometown: Waverly, Tennessee
Song: “An Old Fashioned Christmas”
Label: Pinecastle Records

In Their Words: “I’ve always had a love affair with the past. I love history, antiques, old music, old movies, old instruments, etc. As I’ve gotten older, things from my own past come into play. Rick Lang and I wrote the song from around a conversation of our personal Christmas experiences. It’s those special memories and those mental snapshots of our childhood that are most precious to us this time of year. Being able to record the song with my longtime friend Danny Roberts producing, and his amazingly talented daughter Jaelee singing harmony, was extra special and it truly captured the feelings of family. It is my hope when people hear the song that it mentally takes them back to happy Christmas memories of their own.” — Daryl Mosley

LISTEN: Daryl Mosley, “A Few Years Ago”

Artist: Daryl Mosley
Hometown: Waverly, Tennessee
Song: “A Few Years Ago”
Album: The Secret of Life
Release Date: May 22, 2020
Label: Pinecastle Records

In Their Words: “I think as you age, you become more introspective. These days I seem to have much more clarity about my past, both professionally and personally. I have some wonderful memories of experiences I’ve had and as I look back on them, I would not change a thing. But I also have some real regrets in some of the decisions I made and how those things turned out. But you realize that on the road of life, there is no place to turn around. You can’t change any of it. All you can do is appreciate the positive experiences and hopefully learn from the negative experiences and grow as a person. That’s what ‘A Few Years Ago’ is about — accepting the past and your responsibility in it, and moving forward as a wiser, better individual.” — Daryl Mosley
